An Evening Under the Stars

Learn about constellations and planets with astronomer Kevin Boles, of Morgan County Observatory in Berkeley Springs, WV.

Gather for supper before heading out under the stars with an 8" reflector telescope and star charts to help guide us on this interstellar journey.

Discover Jupiter & its moons, the Hercules star cluster, the ring nebula, the double star Albireo, the 1st quarter Moon & view the Perseid meteor shower.

If you like, bring a telescope or a good pair of binoculars and a reclining lawn chair.  Overnight tenting is also available.

 

Venue: Niles Cabin, Friends Wilderness Center

Date: Saturday, August 14, 2010

 

Time: 6:30 pm for dinner; 8:30 for star-gazing

 

Cost: $10 for dinner/$5 for those under six (RSVP required); $10 donation for stargazing, family rates $25.
